The new member of my shoe collection~~~

If any of you still remember my older posts, I had one post talking about all my dear shoes.
Today I have one new member joining them, so I just wanna share with you guys. lol

I was just coming home from school like 1 hour ago and there it was sitting at my door. Haha. I've actually been excited about this for the whole day.

Just could not wait to open it and I also took a picture of the box. haha
As you can probably tell, my new babies are from Steve Madden. They are actually on sale right now. I do recommand you guys to check it out.

Aren't they pretty??? HAHA
I would love to give you guys the link to this pair of shoes, however, I think they are already sold out since they were on sale.
However, they still have more sale going on. I bet you would find yourself amazed at the STEVE MADDEN CLEARANCE.
I actually personally am thinking about getting more pairs, they just all look so attractive. lol

Asian Fabulous Stockings 1~~~~

So today I just wanna talk about one must-have item stocking!!~~
Correct me if I were wrong, but I always kind of think that the stockings in America is always either white or black or grey. You know just kinda boring.
So I wanna show you guys some Asian fabulous stockings. There are so many of them, it is not possible for me to show you all of them in just one single post. So this is just part 1~ lol

First, I just wanna give you a big picture of how it looks. You know the stocking I am showing you today which happens to be the one I am wearing today. lol

P.S. : the weather is really turning beautiful in Iowa City.

Now this is how the whole thing looks a bit closer. I know that my room is a mess. Don't remind me.

PREPPY LOOK!!!~~

My precious Spring Break is almost over, so I think it's better to make another post while I still got all these time to kill.
Today I'm introducing the preppy look that's so hot and popular in Asia for so long and still will be.
Personally I am not so into the "Preppy look". High heels don't normally go with preppy outfit so much. So for me I always love to combine the high heels and the preppy outfits.

 Taking pictures of myself in the mirror is probably one of my favorite activities. lol

I am not quiet sure about here in the United States. In Asia, a preppy coat like the one I have on in the picture is a must-have for young girls.
Truth is, the one I have on in the picture looks a lot like one of my old uniforms. But it definitely is not!!! lol













Another major element for preppy look is definitely the hair-band that would make you look so like a good girl!!!!
I chose the one I picked out of a little retail store in China. Pink with a nice bow on it.
The amazing part about the hair-band is that you can adjust the bow anyway you want to.
Too bad I forgot to take a picture with the bow looking some way else.

Accessories!!!

It's been so long since my last post.
Sorry about that!
So today we will be talking about accessories. I am going to throw out one crazy question: Who does not love those cute accessories????
I am going to start with my personal collection of accessories, so you girls would learn a little bit about my taste and see if we are alike.
I don't mean to show off, but my personal collection is too big to sum up in one post. lol So we are going to check a part of it out today.

First, is a bow shape necklace I like very much. This is actually what we call "sweater necklace" in China which means it goes best with winter sweaters.  However, I believe it goes perfect with any kind of style you want.
I got it in China and it cost only 10 Chinese money which is like 1.50 dollars. Good deal, right? lol

Another necklace that I love. As you can see, it's made with a tiny record tape. It's actually hand made by a Chinese girl who sells accessories she makes online in her own store. 
This one definitely does not go with prom dresses, but it's perfect with anything other than that. Honestly even perfect with sports wear. Trust me, I've tried.
   Like I said, I got this in China too and cannot remember the price now. Haha, sorry.

I only have 2 necklaces ready for today. So now we're getting into the bracelet department. lol
This one you can see in the picture is actually more like a rock-look. However, I prefer to wear it for casual outfits. You know, jeans and T-shirts. 
I got this one from the British brand: TOPSHOP. I'm pretty sure you cannot get the same one anymore. But do check it out, they update frequently.

If you've been reading my blog, you would know that I really am a huge fan of TOPSHOP. So another topshop bracelet that I just got at the beginning of this year.
Kinda rock-look, but the little white flower in the middle really keeps the balance though. Therefore, you can wear it any occasion you want to. Besides since it's a combination of 3 separate bracelets, you can play with the order of them. Isn't that fun???
So again, like I've said it so many times in the blog: do check out the fantastic brand: TOPSHOP.

The last bracelet for today again is from TOPSHOP. Haha. I'm not sure if you can get a clear view of it, it's made of white man-made pearls. That's why it's not expensive at all!!!
BTW, I just got this electric ball this month and it's a lot of fun. haha

In order to prove that I don't only own accessories from TOPSHOP, I'm ending this post with my hair band/ necklace from H&M.
In the first picture I'm wearing it as a necklace and then it turned into a hair band. Isn't that great?
BTW, the H&M is having this fabulous spring collection coming up in the April. I will have another post discussing that though. Possibly today.

Internship Tips

Okay. First let me show off that I just got an intern opportunity at CNN Beijing.
I figured that this post will be totally out of fashion topic. But I think it's still necessary to post this about getting internship.
I understand that a lot of college students like me are struggling with intern oppotunities. With the economic now, it's not easy even if we are just offering free help. Even though I am journalism major, I think the tips I concluded should work generally with other majors as well. Hopefully you would find this useful.
First, I'll explain my situation. I'm turning junior next semester which really made it urgent for me to get an internship to collect more experiences in the industry.
So this leads to me now. I have sent out at least 15 resumes and cover letters to different media outlets 3 weeks ago which got no reply what so ever. Then I thought of one of my professor this semester. Her first major was Chinese and second major in journalism. Therefore, she has worked in China mainland and Hongkong for over 10 years which includes a few years at CNN Beijing. So with my desperation, I emailed her asking for information about CNN Beijing since I could not find anything about it on cnn.com. She was so nice that not only she sent me the email address of the editor of CNN Beijing and also wrote a recommandation letter to the editor. So 2 weeks ago, I sent my resume, my cover letter and a statement to the editor.

So here is my tip 1: Do not afraid to use any connections around you. Professors, friends, family friends... basically anything. People are generally happy to help you.

Before sending the emial to the editor, I realized that this could be my best shot at internship. So I took a really long time working on my resume, cover letter and statement. And then I sent it to the professor who recommanded me to this opportunity and had her reviewed it for me.

So, tip 2: Resume and cover letter are really important. Emphasize your advantages and try to find a way around your disadvantages. P.S.: I do not mean not to mention your disadvantages at all. Because they will find out eventually. So be honest with it, but do find a way around.

Tip 3: Never hesitate to ask experienced people to review your resume and cover letter to offer their advises. This could be really helpful.

After sending out my resume which was 1 week ago, I could not stop thinking about it. Waiting is really painful. Every single day I would ask my boyfrined something like: "Why haven't they replied me yet? They don't want me, do they?". Even my boyfriend was driven crazy by me.

Last, tip 4: Waiting is painful, but there would be an end. So be more patient.

This is pretty much I got and I would update anytime if I think of something.

The NEW UNIQUE & FASHION hair band!!

Hey girls!!!~~
Today I will be introducing the new Japanese-invented UNIQUE hair band which could work like hairpins. Doesn't that sound interesting???
Aren't you just tired of the same hair look all the time? I am! Aren't you sick of the ban but don't want to chop them off once? I am! With this little hair band, you could change your look in 5 minutes!!!!
According to various magazines and fashion authorities, the fashion trend this year would really include hair band with scratched hair. It's hard for me to explain. However, I do have pictures to show.

All right, this is the little cute tool we are about to use for the look. Isn't this cute?? And it has little dimonds attached on it.

Okay!! Before we start, my normal hair looks just like this. Boring and plain.

First, seperate your hair like I did in the picture. On both sides of your head!!

Then place the hair band in the gap that you just made by seperating your hair.

Then, simply take a strand of your hair as shown in the picture.

Just twist it!!
With me so far?

Lift the pin on the hair band and place the hair you just twisted under.
BTW, the little black thing down there is only my vest. lol
Do the excat same thing with all the rest of your hair that's left before the band.

Intro to shoes

Note: None of these shoes are for sale and I'm not selling any new pair either. These are just my personal collections and I would try to put a link for each possible one, so any of you could find at least similar shoes. If you find my taste close to yours, please follow my blog to support. Doing this really takes a lot of time and energy, hopefully I will get you guys' fully support.

My friends sometimes call me "shoe-holic" and I think of myself as one too. Add up all the shoes I have in both America and China, I definitely have over at least 1 hunderd pairs of shoes if not more. And yet still not enough. I'm sure some of you would feel the same way, either with shoes, handbags, clothes or boyfriends. lol Just Kidding.
Now let's get started. It's hard for me to put all the shoes in catalog, but I will try to organize.

First, I will start with 3 pairs of high heels which are good for more than one season. I will post seperate photo of them.

This is the pair on the left in the previous photo. It's mostly good for winter, early sping and fall. As you can see, the fur inside really keeps the cold wind out. It's fairly high, but not too high to walk yet.
You can wear it with either jeans or skirts. Definitely will make look amazine in the winter when so many other are stuffing themselves in dumpy boots.
Unfourtunately, I got this pair of shoes in China, and I'm pretty sure that they are sold out by now. So I won't be able to post any link for you guys.

This is the pair that was in the middle. As we all know, black and white is always popular and always will be. This pair is clearly trying to look like the style of Chanel. So even though we could not afford fancy brand like Chanel, we could still find a way to make ourselves shine.
As elegant as Chanel, this pair would look perfect with one-piece dress if you got some parties coming up. Surprising, it would go with jeans just fine too. It could manage the balance.
This pair of shoes is the same situation like the previous one, so no links, sorry!! But I promise there would be links for you guys.

The shoes are all white and very simple design. Perfect with jeans as you can imagine, but it could also blance the fancy one-piece dress. Needless to say, skirts would look amazing with them as well.
These are TOPSHOP shoes. For those who are not familiar, topshop is an English brand. They have pretty much everything, from cloth to shoes, handbags to cosmetics, even swimsuits and lungaries. The brand is young, elegant, pretty and everything!!!

All these four pairs are from TOPSHOP too, as you probably could figure out on the box. That's basically why I put them together. And we will get to each of them one by one as well.

This is the ones you saw in the front of the previous picture. Flat shoes which are super comfortable and they are insanely soft. I love the bowknot (I'm not sure if you guys call them bowknots or just bows~) and I love pretty much everything with bows on it.
I always like to put this pair of shoes on with shorts or skirts. Just simply because without high heels to make my legs look long, I need to do something. However, for American girls, I don't think you guys need to worry about that.

Another of my loved shoes. As you can tell, red is definitely one of my favorite colors.
This pair of shoes are real rocky. Just looking at it makes me think of rock stars or things like that. So I mosty put it on along with jeans or shorts. Frankly, I've never tried them with skirts or dresses. Because I always thought those things are too girly for this pair of shoes.

 I honestly don't know how you guys call these shoes here in the America, sneakers??? Maybe. But I love them anyway. As you can see they're in leopard skins. To be honest, I have not put on this pair of shoes too many times, again it's because that I believe flats do not make my legs look as long as the high heels do. But when I bought this pair of shoes, the leopard skin was a hit!~~
So TOPSHOP as usual, I really do love this brand.

 Another pair with bows on them. I believe that people seeing you in a pair of shoes like this, they think of you as a good girl. So a good choice if you are gonna meet with the boyfriends' fmaily!~ lol
I love this pair of shoes because they are not real high heels nor real flats. Isn't that fun? I mostly put them on when I'm almost late for school and don't have enough time to pick a pair of shoes. They just go with everything!!~~
You probably can't find the same pair anymore, but check out some other new shoes from TOPSHOP.

I don't know if any of you is familiar with this pair of shoes. But they've made their appearence on SEX AND THE CITY in purple. 
They are Manalo Blahnik!!~ Very elegant shoes perfect for a nice dinner in a fancy restaurant. And I tried them with jeans too. Guess what, they look amazing as well!!~~
I think I actually got them in a store, and I believe they might still have the excat pair. So if you like them, get them. I did find some websites that carry this brand:BARNEYS, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus(we are familiar with this, aren't we?)

These 2 pairs always makes me delighted. The design of only covering 1/5 of your feet would make your legs really long even they are not high heels. How can I not love them???
The one on the left corner is from Juicy Couture. I've not met one single girl who doesn't just love them.
And the one on the right corner is from the brand that I'm not so familiar with. I bought both of them in an outlet in Dallas. So no link for this pair. Sorry!!~ But Juicy would never let you down!!!~~

2 more pairs from Juicy. I bought both of them together when eveyone had some pair of shoes like this. But now the one down there only makes me think about Jesus days. (It's not offensive, is it?) So I think I only put it on once and then never again.
The one up is okay actually, however I sometimes find my foot slipping out of the shoes and be on the ground directly which is not real pleasant.
But Juicy is great, CHECK THEM OUT!!!~~~










Now, how can any girl not have a pair of black shoes?? They are classic and popular at the same time!! Both of these two pairs are from Jessica Simpson. I would never call myself shoe-holic if I did not have a pair of Jessica Simpson.

 Now, I think we are getting into the shoes that mostly come out of the America. And I'm getting tired and sleepy as well.
This pair of shoes are from a Japanese brand: Pink Mars.  Isn't this a fun name? I actually got them in store and I do personally sell shoes from this brand too. So feel free to check back with me if you like their style.
This pair of shoes are perfect for pretty much anything. Jeans? Perfect! Skirts? No problem! One-piece dress? Maybe!!

I did get this pair of shoes in the America in some small mall I randomly walked into. They are wedges and yet not as comfortable as the other wedges I have. However I still like the color and style of them.
We girls do sacrifice a lot to look pretty, don't we?

Isn't this  pair just COOL!!!~~~ They are from another Japanese brand that I do sell myself called: CHEERS!!!~ I love their shoes, handbags and caps.
Imagine yourself in a pair of sheos like this. You're definitely the SUPER MODEL on the street!!!~~

 I have to address that this pair of shoes are new for a reason!!~~~ This is the second pair of this excat shoes I bought!!!~~~
The first time I bought them and went back to China with them. Then, my cousin just fell in love with them and would never let them go again. So I left that pair to her and came back to Amercia and bought a new pair for myself. That's why they are still unwraped.
They are from an American brand: MIA. You would discover all kinds of amazing shoes with this brand!!!~~

I'm sure this pair is called sneakers.
I don't even think I need to tell you the reason why I love them. Just look at the colors!!!~~
They are from Miss Sixty (The brand that's loved by so many Hollywood celebrities??? Ring a bell???)!!! They have all kinds of high heels and pretty handbags as well, I just happened to pick this one.

 Hands up if you have a pair of ALDO!!~~ 
When I bought this pair of shoes, my boyfriend and some of my friends told me they are more for black girls! But I think that's racism. Just because I'm Asian, it doesn't mean I can't have a pair of fabulous shoes like this!!!~~~
ALDO has been a great place to shop shoes for both myself and my boyfriend!! So you can even drag your boyfriend along to go shoe shopping. CHECK THEM OUT HERE

Another pair of shoes I bought just because the style was popular by the time. But I DO NOT regret one little bit.
It's convinent, supurisingly comfortable and good looking as well.
I bought them in a Japanese shoe store, but I'm sure you can find shoes similar to this everywhere. Let me know if you need any help!!!!

Now rainboots! It was the time I was planning to buy a pair of rainboots, and I don't wanna anything like those pairs that everyone wears on the street. You know what I'm talking about, the black ones with colorful dots on them!!
So I found this pair on a sale website, it's simple and pretty. DIdn't even take me more than 5 seconds to decide.

It's winter now. And being in a place like Iowa city, everyone needs a pair of warm boots. Besides which girl in America does not have a pair of UGG.

I'm glad that we are finally getting to this pair of shoes. Not only because I'm tired and this pair is one of the endings, but I could provide you a new place to shop for shoes.

This pair of shoes are from one of the Chinese brands. And I'm pretty sure that they are sold out.
The wedge is really comfortable and the yellow leather part is insanely soft. They've never hurt my feet one little bit and I could run in them.
Besides, look at the color!! I would buy them even if they hurt my feet everyday!!! lol

Another pair of shoes from Japan. Japanese really works on fashion a  lot.
Good looking, comfortable, can go with any color, any style and any outfit.

Another pair from Gianni Bini. Red and gold, I knew I need to have them the minute I saw them.

Another pair of leopard skin. And if you read the previous article, what does design of covering 1/5 feet do? Yerp, they make your legs look longer which is really in my interest.
